Begonia reniformis

Begoniaceae

Begonia reniformis is commonly called the ‘Grape Leaf Begonia’. A medium growing fibrous rooted begonia with glossy veined grape leaf shaped foliage. Small white flowers above foliage from spring to summer.

These are thick stemmed begonia and the stems themselves seem to break easily, so keep them in a protected positions.

Care

Begonia reniformis grows well deep shade or filtered light. It can be pruned back to maintain size if required.

If you do need to prune stems back you can cut them right back to the ground, and they ‘should’ re shoot. The cuttings seem to re shoot easily, so plant any cuttings or broken stems.
