Begoniaceae
Begonia foliosa is a small evergreen shrubby plant with glossy, dark green oblong or oval leaves. An excellent hanging basket or container plant flowering from summer through to fall with hanging white and pink fuchsia like flowers.
Flowers are red when new turning a softer pink, an excellent choice for a pot or container. Long flowering and attractive to birds and butterflies.
Care
Begonia foliosa grows well in part shade, probably best in pot or container indoors. A well drained humus rich moist soil. Prune to maintain shape
Varieties
Begonia foliosa var. miniata is a smaller cultivar a low growing perennial reaching around 60cm.
