Tulipa linifolia is native to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Used widely in rock gardens Tulipa linifolia also does well in containers or pots.
A dwarf late flowering species with bright red, open cupped flowers with a darker base. The flowers are a brilliant red and when they open a real splash of color will fill whatever pocket of the garden you have chosen to plant them in.
Care
Found in the foothills of the mountains in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan good drainage is essential.
You will also need cold winters for this species to flower well.
Will grow well in a deep container and propagation is easiest by division of established clumps. However it will come from seed for those patient among us.
