Yellow wax Bells
Kirengeshoma palmata are a woodland plant from Japan. Dormant in winter they require shaded to part shaded position with protection from afternoon sun. Kirengeshoma require a humus rich moist position.

Excellent for planting near hydrangeas as they do love similar conditions. It is Kirengeshoma palmata with its wonderful green foliage and bell shaped yellow flowers that is the most widely grown.
Over time forming a large but tidy clump with the yellow flowers rising above the foliage from summer to fall. The foliage in itself is large and palmate, a good mid green.
Care
This is a woodland plant so a position in filtered shade is essential. It flowers late in the season and the yellow flowers and bell shaped.
- Choose a position in part shade.
- A humus rich moist soil that is slightly acidic is best.
- Water well during dry conditions.
- Fertilise with a liquid organic fertiliser in spring.
- Divide the clumps in spring digging the whole clump out and carefully separating the crown.
- Ensure that each division has 3 – 4 buds.
- Replant at around 24 inches apart.
